Il metodo Montessori nelle lezioni di pedagogia di Aldo Capitini (1948-1960)

2019

This article concerns the lessons that Aldo Capitini dedicated to the Montessori Method, in Pisa University (1948-49) and in Cagliari University (1959-60). Beyond the common opinion that interprets the two theories of education as similar, the criticism that Capitini did to Maria Montessori was intended to clarify his education theory of the co-presence. Sympathizing with the neo-idealistic and secular critiques, Capitini denounced the limits of the Montessori proposal regarding some subjects: scientific pedagogy, method, didactic material, liberation of the child, religion, peace. Reading the summaries of the two university courses, the presence of two Capitinian Montessori emerges, even i…

OBSERVATION AS A METHOD: FREE MANIFESTATION IN THE MONTESSORI APPROACH

2021

In Montessori pedagogy, one of the fundamental teacher’s characteristics is the attitude to active observation, this, infact, figure out as a learning source basilar for every teacher's work. For Maria Montessori (1999) it is essential to prepare master observers able to observe and guide the child's development while respecting the natural course. The time used for observation is precious moment to avoid that “the vain effort of those looking for a hidden object and the anxiety of those who need support escape”, as well as a moment to catch the essence of a child and his needs. La formazione spirituale del bambino secondo Maria Montessori

2022

This paper presents a Maria Montessori’s unprecedented and little known aspect: it is her attention to the child’s spiritual education. Education for a cosmic peace, meditative silence, social education through meditative work shared in a community way, are some practices with wich the child begins a path of spiritual education that makes him aware of his own se…

THE ENVIRONMENT AS THE CHILD’S PRIMARY INTERLOCUTOR

2021

The environment organization is one of the Montessori pedagogy milestones which in recent decades has been revised by international scientific literature [1]. The environment organization is a primary interlocutor for the child [2] because, as Montessori says, the child "absorbs" and embodies it in himself [3]. This self-transforming work is a natural process that takes place spontaneously and it mostly depends on the experiences made in the environment, especially in the first years of life when the child's mind is predisposed to absorb a quantity of non-quantifiable information. In "Self-education in elementary schools", Montessori [4] even describes a "constant reaction" whereby, in cert…

2019

The following paper focus on the growing interest in structuring the learning environment in order to promote the psycho-social-attitudinal development of the infant. The montessorian approach enhances a child-friendly environment. It facilitates active participation in the child’s daily life, thus contributing towards a higher level of independence, self-awareness, self-esteem and self-evaluation. The survey conducted in June 2019 shows that in Sicily less people are adopting montessorian approach nowadays into the early childhood structures.
